As a way to look at past and present technology, you could transfer the classroom into one with technology from the early 1900's. No computers, minimal writing books. Research done with books. Even Technology for lighting could be adapted for the week to show how much technology we really use on a daily basis. As part of the focus on past and present technology you could also find books that cover transport, shops etc. from the past and discuss what is different from the present.
