An early middle school activity on decoding and encoding words or phrases could be used to start students thinking about information transfer in different ways. #csertask3
A great code book by Usborne has 50 codes ranging from simplistic to quite complex. I have used codes to create spelling lists (my favourite is the cross code pictured below) to be decoded and also communicate with students.
