Melanie Sluyters▸ Task 6: Algorithms & Programming


The task I am sharing is called Quest Maker. Students will need to create a game that uses symbols to get from one part of the College to another without using any words.

Using symbols only and a key to explain the symbols designed, students will design a series of steps using repetition, abstraction and algorthims to plot a course. At each section there will be the next instruction that will allow the players to move through the course successfully. If they do not interpret the quest symbols properly then they will not be able to go on to the next stage. Those who are playing the game need to look carefully at the symbols and work through until the completion of the task.
