the attached lesson is titled 'Secret Code Activity' and is by Sheena Vaidyanathan Los Altos California. It is for Grades 6-8 in the USA – Stage 3 in NSW.

It involves unplugged coding as well as a simple Scratch project to create a secret code. The stimulus is the story of Alan Turing in WW2 breaking the German Enigma code. Sheena gave a choice of either activity. I would provide the unplugged activity first to demonstrate how codes have been used since Caesars's time [hence the name] and then use a further lesson to allow students to use Scratch to develop their won code.
