Hopscotch is a free visual programming app I've used to engage students in computational thinking. There is a lot of guidance for teachers with written lesson plans/sequence of learning that you can download to get you and your students started. Hopscotch also has a Youtube channel with step-by-step instructions for building and modifying games. My students were creating their own games very quickly and having a fabulous time doing it.
