Unfortunately I am not able to display my resources here but I have a number of old but working PC's that students completely dismantle (keeping a very accurate written, spoken or visual journal as they go) and then they have to rebuild the computer from scratch and then we test it to see if it still works.

My students then illustrate how a basic PC works using photos and illustrations and then create a diagram of the computer network in our school with lines showing network cables and names for each computer.

Very challenging but very rewarding when the task is completed. The mapping helps students see how all of the computers are connected to each other through wires or through wifi.
