Kristy Tidey▸ Task 7: Visual Programming

Option 2: A classroom activity that incorporates a visual programming environment is using a free online program (that you can also download) Stencyl – http://www.stencyl.com/. Students can design their own games using block language. I have used it with Year 5 and 6 students, and we recently had a workshop with Bitlink where students designed their own game components (characters, collectables, power-ups, backgrounds) in piskel app (another free program available online) and then added their elements into their own games on Stencyl. I have attached a video link of a game two Year 5 students created together. #cserTask7 #stencyl Made with Seesaw – Student Driven Digital Portfolios. Free for teachers!
