I have studied The Jewel Fish Of Karnak by Graeme Base with a stage 2 class. It took us a few weeks to study the story, deciphering codes along the way and doing lots of work with Egyptian hieroglyphics. At the end of the unit we went to http://graemebase.com/book/the-jewel-fish-of-karnak/ and solved the puzzle encoded in the story receiving a prize for completing the quest.
