A potential lesson could be to identify cattle in the College cattle herd with a QR code. The code could be placed on a tag in the ear of the cow, this could be scanned on an smartphone in the cattle yards. Scanning would instantly link all known data about the animal from the database. This would allow the person who scans the code to know such things as Birth date, Sire, Dam, breed, age etc.
This would reduce the need to read out a 10 -15 digit NLIS code.
