Brigid Sweeney▸ Task 7: Visual Programming

Bee-Bots are a great activity for Pre & Primary school children. They are very easy to use.

Bee-Bot® -Treasure Island

Activity one • Start on the Pirate Ship and program Bee-Bot to visit the places below • Pause at each place you visit • Go to the two palm trees, then go across the river on the bridge • Then go to the swamp • Then go to the cave, then go to the beach with a black rock • Where is the treasure buried on the island?

Activity Two • Start on the Pirate Ship and program Bee-Bot to go to the volcano visiting the swamp along the way • Start on the Pirate Ship and program Bee-Bot to go to the volcano visiting the waterfall along the way How many other programs can you create that start on the Pirate Ship and go to the volcano visiting other “land” marks along the way?

Activity Three • Start on 1D and program your robot to move to 2A, then 2B, then 4D, then 2D, then 3D. • Start on 1A and program your robot to go directly to the swamp without visiting the dangerous volcano or waterfall but including a swim at the beach along the way Now try adding some extra 3D animals (snake, bear, lion, sharks) to create obstacles for your Bee-Bot moving around Treasure Island.
