In the year 8 Mandatory Technology course we do a couple of the technologies in sequence. For the initial cycle we do the block based scratch incorporating the dancing figure etc. the using the same block type programming we move onto the Edison robotics. In this phase the students program the Edison to follow the course they worked on in the later part of the scratch. We see this as a natural progression from the visual representation on the computer to the physical course set up to have the robot traverse.
