The Food Authorities Name and Shame website is excellent tool for teaching the importance of hygiene in relation to food preparation.
The site lets you conduct searches into businesses that have been given either on the spot fines or court fines for poor hygiene standards. You can search by trade name, suburb, recently added, added in past 30 days or all. Once you find a business that has received a fine you can read all the details relating to the breech. This is a great tool for students as it allows them to hone their search skills whilst providing a wealth of relevant information for class discussion.
