Tonita Foye▸ Task 2: Data- Patterns & Play

Teachers collect a lot of data, it’s becoming increasingly important with more emphasis on our accountability. A lot of teachers resent the imposition of data collection, so teaching them how to use it, therefore making it valuable to them is essential. The activity would be for teachers to analyse and present data from PLAN, choosing a school wide focus, eg place value, identify targets and target groups, and then plan interventions/strategies to ensure students are meeting benchmarks and moving towards the next clusters. However, a lot of the PD would be focused on convincing them data is their friend!
