Rebecca Perry (Bekstar)▸ Task 7: Visual Programming
Task 7. Option 1: In my classroom I regularly use Scratch Junior. I would complete a Scratch activity with my students in roughly half an hour. I design a classroom activity that uses an existing Scratch game and that focuses either on understanding the Scratch program or modifying the Scratch program. I will start my lesson by following the guide step by step and then allowing the students to explore various options to modify components. Ie: change a character, add a character, change a colour, change background, or add or delete steps. We then have a plough back sharing time at the end where the students share their knowledge and understanding. It allows them to show the modifications and other pairs follow their changes on their own ipads.
