Option 2: Design an activity that explores sequences of instructions.
Here is an activity I ran with a Yr4 class (adapted from code.org). The activity focusses on students working methodically, in pairs, and using computational thinking to design a solution to a problem (the template is open ended so you can set what you want as the problem). I rearranged the desks in the classroom to create a maze (obstacles), the students had to create a set of instructions to get a blindfolded person from start to finish. (It is similar to the Jam Sandwich idea in the example activity). The lesson ran over two 55min sessions. As an extension activity I had students revise their code to include repetition (e.g. repeat 2: forward 1, left 1) and IF/THEN statements (e.g. if bump into another student, then stop).

- Rebecca Vivian: Thanks for sharing the lesson. It sounded like a great lesson for exploring CT skills. Would you run it again based on how things went?
