Naomi Dreher▸ Task 1: Introducing DTs

When it comes to robotics, so many people envision sterile medical environments or highly-monitored production lines. At the recent Woodford Folk Festival, I took a couple of workshops in 3D printing. One of the other participants was telling me about his job as a Robotic Engineer for Coles Meyer – he works with a multi-disciplinary team to design and make the Christmas window displays. He is interested in how his team can use 3D printers (instead of clay, plaster or other methods) to make the faces and other sculpted aesthetic features for the robots. Each robot is custom designed by the team; he spoke about his job with a lot of passion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iek0VHpu6-s
