Margaret Neville▸ Task 3: Data- Representation

Visual data representation. #csertask3.
In this class activity students can see how computer images are constructed using pixels by zooming in on a picture. The Pixel Value Interactive allows you to see the pixels of an image, and details about those pixels. The great thing about this resource is that students can upload and then manipulate their own images and zoom in to see the pixel information. A follow up to this could be to use a hard copy squared paper or another interactive that allows them to create a duplicate of the computer image themselves in pixels. It becomes an exercise in colour exploration and spatial awareness. The Pixel Art activity listed provides a good colour range for young students and the ability to adjust the pixel size for creating more intricate images for students with greater persistence.
