Before I introduced SCRATCH to my students I created a Teacher Account in CODE.org and had the student’s work through the stages to familiarise themselves with visual programming environments. Once they understood the basic idea of how code works I ran through a SCRATCH tutorial from the website. Students were then asked to take the algorithms from the tutorial and rearrange and adjust them. They were also asked to design or import their own sprites and backgrounds and also to change the parameters.
