Sally Walsh▸ F-6 Digital Technologies MOOC

Option 1. Our Game Based Learning Journey. Our students spent many hours in developing algorithms for games and researching these. They spent a long time on if-then statements In particular, they learnt how to create objects and figures that were properly sized for the room, were appropriate for the game environment they were creating and blended well with the backgrounds. They had also learnt how to instigate scoring or rewards systems into their game, how to create multiple rooms within their game and, whereas their initial attempts had no sound, their final game had a range of different sound effects that aligned with the action. They had were also able to increase the difficulty levels in the game as it progressed, as well as matching this with changing and more complex visuals.
