Part 1: What information do I have that only some people should know and who should know it?
Constable Kenny visited our school to talk to students about keeping safe.
It is essential that children understand that their personal details such as address, phone numbers, date of birth etc should not be shared.
Personal information should not be displayed on a computers and should only be given out to known people, preferably in person and not on social media.
Constable Stewart gave an example via a role play- he pretended to be 12 and ask personal questions to the audience. This illustrated how easily it is for information to be shared to a wide audience. He spoke about the importance of not sharing personal details and perhaps having an online nickname.
