For those with iPads this is an app that I would get the kids to use this game – perhaps in a competitive way to see who can complete the levels the quickest.  Whilst I am always careful in the use of games as they can be counter-intuitive this is a great one to get them thinking about how programming works.

The Apple Store description is this:
_The first game programmed entirely on iPad® using Codea™
Cargo-Bot is a puzzle game where you teach a robot how to move crates.
https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/cargo-bot/id519690804?mt=8_

Its been described as this _"It’s like Angry Birds crossed with Codecademy, and it’s total genius." And its very addictive.  Not sure if that sells it to you but you get the idea.

It is a challenging and fun game that students can play to learn some principles of logic and programming. The object of the game is to program a robot to complete sequences of tasks that get more difficult at every level.  Also in more advances levels they are asked to program more complex tasks like repeating loop of movements and staggered movements.

All up its pretty darn cool.
