Bellovesbooks▸ F-6 Digital Technologies MOOC

I designed my activity with a grade 2 class in mind.  I have had this class a couple of times and they are always eager to hear what the "big kids" are doing in maths and English. I told them they could learn to represent numbers in binary form by using 1's and 0's. Since they are a young class I decided to stick with 1,2,4,8 and 16. Ultimately it is a matching game that we played as a whole class. After a 20 minute lesson, most of the students had got the hang of these numbers, and were experimenting with clapping and stamping their feet to represent the numbers. They have made me promise to do some more "big kid" maths next time I see them. #csertask3
